Dragon Ball
The Dragon Ball manga was first published in 1984, penned by Akira Toriyama, and appeared in the popular Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. The Dragon Ball story takes place in the Dragon World, known as Planet 4032–877 in the celestial system. Son Goku, an earthling from the Dragon World, along with his genius employer and friend, Bulma, set out on a mission to find all seven Dragon Balls to enable him to summon the ancient dragon Shenron, a being that can grant any wish. Throughout the series, Goku meets new friends and trains hard under talented teachers and even supernatural deities to defend his world against the bad guys. He even evolves to a Super Saiyan to save the earth from its demise.
